Ms. Batey litigates a variety of disputes for the firm's clients. She concentrates much of her practice in the areas of animal law, business services, and personal injury. Her personal injury practice involves motor-vehicle accidents, medical malpractice, nursing home abuse and neglect, and on-premise injuries.
Ms. Batey has extensive history working in the legal industry. Before attending law school at the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville, she spent years as a paralegal for a law firm in Bowling Green, Kentucky. During law school she served as a law clerk for Churchill Downs, Inc. and for the U.S. Internal Revenue Service.
Ms. Batey represents Kentucky residents and businesses in state court throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky. She also represents businesses and individuals for federal issues in U.S. District Court in the Western District of Kentucky. Ms. Batey makes court appearances primarily in Jefferson and nearby counties, but also represents clients in Bullitt, Edmonson, Oldham, Shelby, and Warren counties.
Ms. Batey is currently serving a term as the Secretary for the Animal Law Section of the Kentucky Bar Association. She is passionate about defending the rights of those who are seemingly voiceless, including our furry companion animals.
